Happy New Year everyone! Yes it's late, and I haven't posted anything for a while, but I've been busy with working and university stuff!
The world of F1 has changed quite dramatically since my last post after Abu Dhabi. Firstly the teams have changed, Manor is now Virgin and BMW Sauber is now... OK, BMW Sauber. The FIA ruled it was to late to change names and that Honda's change to Brawn was a one off.
The big team change is Brawn becoming Mercedes Benz, which ends the long relationship between Benz and Mclaren. Rumour has it that Mclaren wants to start creating their own engines and become more like Ferrari; a complete road car company.
Then there is the other big news. The seven time world champion that is Michael Schumacher has humbled everyone with a return to Formula One... With Mercedes. It's the circle of life really, Schumi started off with Mercedes, so it seems fitting he will end his career with them too. It does feel weird seeing him in silver though. Do I still think Schumacher can win? Yes. He always had that extra bit more than other drivers, and even if he lost that, he'd still be faster. He was basically pushed out of Ferrari, and he was bored. You'd be bored doing the same thing for 10 years with the same company. Now he is back in with Benz, and with his mate Ross Brawn, I expect championship number 8, and 100 wins.
Kimi Raikkonen is out of F1, and into rallying. Which annoys me. I dislike Massa as he comes off as a little crying baby, and I don't like Alonso cause he is a big crybaby. This puts me in a bad situation, as for the first time in my F1 watching life, I just can't seem to support Ferrari. I want to support Schumacher, but I can't bring myself to support him in a Mercedes! So it looks like this year I will be neutral.
Or not. Kobayashi has signed with Sauber! Probably the most talented driver to come out of Japan, ever. I will support him after his amazing debut last year, and luckily he has joined a team with no personality whatsoever. So I won't feel I'm betraying Ferrari.
